While I have made efforts to keep things as objective as possible, inevitably, some information will be subjective.

However, to balance my subjectivity, you’ll find a long list of other resources and theoretical books that you can check out in the last chapter (10. I started with web design, going on to roles such as UX/UI designer, and then transitioned into product design. Currently, I’m a lecturer in interaction design and software engineering at Chalmers, and doing research in human-AI interaction.

In my years of working, I have been working as employed at a company, freelancing with clients, as well as building my own products and companies.

I am from the beginning self-taught, but have studied at university as well. My formal studies have been in the areas of cognitive science, interaction design, human-computer interaction, psychology, human-centered AI, and more.

I might not be an expert at everything, but drawing from my earlier experiences, I hope that I can help others who may want to follow a similar career path as I have. This is why I have written this book.

I hope that this book can help you and answer most – if not all – of your questions! And I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

Feel free to contact me at my email: wendyzhou.design@gmail.com

There are many books about the theoretical aspects of interface design, but not that many offer practical advice on how to start a career in UI design.
