There’s an active global design community thanks to international travel as well as the internet.
As a beginner, it can be of great help to connect with fellow designers and working professionals all over the world, to get help, connect, make friends, and find inspiration.
Local community
Most cities also have a local community that you can meet through physical meetups and coworking spaces. These physical meetups can be found through apps such as Meetup or Facebook groups dedicated to specific cities.
To find relevant Facebook groups, try searching for “[Your City] + UI Design” on Facebook. To find relevant meetups, try downloading the Meetup app and searching for events in your area. You can also join events organized by universities close to you.
Digital community
The global design community can also be easily accessed digitally on social media such as Facebook groups and Instagram, as well as specific social media such as Dribbble.com and Behance.net.
Instagram is also a great platform for designers because it’s graphic-based, and you can comment and send DMs. You can find the UI design community through hashtags such as #uidesgin, #userinterface, and #uiinspiration.
