Did you know that you can create a 3D object in After Effects? Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can use After Effects to make 3D objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Effects comes with a LITE-version of the program Cinema 4D<\/a>, which allows you to create and manipulate 3D objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step-by-step guide on how to create a 3D object in After Effects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. Open the After Effects program<\/li>
  2. Make a new Composition<\/li>
  3. Chose “Cinema 4D” in the settings<\/li>
  4. Click “OK”<\/li>
  5. Make a new layer in the Composition.
    1. “Layer” -> “New” -> “Shape Layer” in the top menu<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
    2. Make the shape you want your 3D object to have (e.g. a rectangle) <\/li>
    3. Left-click on the element and choose “3D Layer”
      OR toggle the 3D symbol in the layer settings panel<\/li>
    4. In the layer settings, go to “Geometry Options” and adjust the “Extrusion Depth”<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
