This is a futuristic design of a weather forecasting product, made by the Japanese designer Koyuki Inagaki. The design is down-to-earth and minimalistic. The style reminds me a lot of the design of other Japanese brands such as Muji and Uniqlo.
The aim of the product was to show how IoT (internet of things) technology could be a part of everyday life. I would personally love to buy this product and have it by my bedside table. The wood makes it look homely, and yet the glass display and icons makes it look futuristic and high-end.

The iconography designed for this products are gorgeous. Super minimalistic yet easily understood.

The package design looks beautiful. It seems though the designer planned for the package to be covered by a thin and half-transparent rice-paper sheet. Rice paper is super common in Asian package design, have been for as long as I can remember. In the wester world, we don’t really see rice paper sheets being used product packaging. Which is a shame, because it looks beautiful, and feels dainty and luxurious to hold.
